Browse Finance OffersDouble glazing has become the standard for home windows all over the UK, especially in areas like Newcastle and across the North East. This is because that extra pane of glass makes all the difference when it comes to energy efficiency, helping significantly reduce heat loss during the cooler months and also reducing unwanted noise pollution from outside areas too.
At Tyneside Home Improvements, all our replacement windows come with double glazing as standard, with the option to add triple glazing where required. Furthermore, our glazing is argon-filled and is available with low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings for improved thermal efficiency.

Ask UsDouble glazing can provide several benefits for your home, including improved insulation and energy efficiency, reduced noise from outside, reduced condensation on the inside of your windows, improved security, and enhanced appearance.
Double glazing works by creating an air gap between two glass panes that helps insulate against heat transfer between varying temperature zones – outside and inside temperature. These two panes of glass are separated by a sealed vacuum filled with Argon gas, which is a poor heat conductor and prevents warm air from being lost from your home.
The lifespan of double-glazed windows depends on the quality of the materials and installation, as well as the level of maintenance and care they receive. Generally speaking, double-glazed windows can last between 15 to 25 years, but some may last longer or shorter.
Double glazing consists of two glass panes with an air or gas gap in between, while triple glazing consists of three glass panes with two air or gas gaps in between. Triple glazing typically offers higher insulation and energy efficiency than double glazing, as it reduces heat loss even further. However, triple glazing also costs more than double glazing, and may not be suitable for all types of windows or properties.
