We understand that your home is unique, and so we can help you design the perfect Edwardian conservatory to complement your property, whether it be a traditional Edwardian space with a high-performance glazed roof or a more contemporary design with a thermally efficient tiled roofing system.

FAQs

Your Questions Answered

We know that choosing the right home improvement is never easy, so we’ve listed some of the most common questions about conservatories to help you make the right choice.

Ask Us

What's the difference between a conservatory and an orangery?

Conservatories are known for their predominantly glazed roofs, allowing for maximum natural light and a connection to the outdoors. Orangeries, on the other hand, often incorporate brick pillars for a more permanent feel and typically feature a solid roof with integrated windows instead of a glazed roof.

What is the difference between a Victorian and Edwardian conservatory?

Both Victorian and Edwardian conservatories are beautiful and classic styles, but there are some key differences between each type of conservatory. Victorian conservatories have a more ornate, multi-faceted roofline with a steeper pitch, while Edwardian conservatories boast a simpler, cleaner line with a central high-pitched roof. Victorian conservatories have a more dramatic and grand feel, whereas Edwardian conservatories offer a sense of balance and elegance.

Are Edwardian conservatories energy efficient?

Yes, at Tyneside Home Improvements, we use high-performance glazing and expert installation techniques to ensure your Edwardian conservatory is thermally efficient. This means it will stay warm in winter and cool in summer, reducing heat loss and lowering your energy bills.

Do conservatories need planning permission?

Usually not. Planning permission is not needed to install a 3-metre-long conservatory on a semi-detached property and a 4-metre-long conservatory on a detached home. If you do need planning permission, the team at Tyneside Home Improvements will organise it on your behalf.

How can I get started with an Edwardian conservatory from Tyneside Home Improvements?

The next step is simple! Contact Tyneside Home Improvements today for a free, no-obligation consultation. Our friendly team can help you find the perfect Edwardian conservatory design to suit your needs and budget.
